Data Interpretation for CET & SNAP: Speed Solving Techniques
DI in CET is relatively easier than CAT but speed matters since you have limited time. Here's how to maximize your DI score.
Types in CET/SNAP
Bar charts and tables are most common. Pie charts appear regularly. Line graphs occasionally. Caselet-based DI is rare but appears in SNAP.
Speed Techniques
1. Read questions before data: Know what you're looking for before diving into numbers. 2. Use percentage to fraction conversion: 33% of 900 = 1/3 of 900 = 300 (faster than multiplying). 3. Compare ratios without calculating: Is 234/567 greater or less than 345/678? Cross multiply to compare without dividing.
Accuracy vs Speed Balance
In CET (no negative marking): Speed > Accuracy. Approximate aggressively. In SNAP (negative marking): Balance both. Approximate for elimination, then verify your choice.
