Logical Reasoning: Seating Arrangement & Puzzle Masterclass
Seating arrangements and puzzles carry 20-25 marks in CET and 8-10 marks in banking Mains. Mastering them is non-negotiable for top scores.
Linear Arrangement
Single row facing one direction: Draw a straight line, mark positions. Fill definite clues first. Two rows facing each other: Draw two parallel lines. Start with cross-links (person opposite to someone).
Circular Arrangement
Draw a circle with positions. Mark center-facing vs outside-facing clearly. Start with definite position clues. "Immediate neighbor" means adjacent seats only. "Second to the left" means count 2 positions anticlockwise (if facing center).
Multi-variable Puzzles
Create a table with all variables. Example: 8 people, 8 floors, 8 professions = 8×3 grid. Fill definite information first, then use elimination. Never assume — only use stated clues. These take 8-10 minutes per set but carry 4-5 questions each.
