MAT Exam: Strategy to Score 700+ for Top B-School Admission

MAT is conducted 4 times a year and accepted by 600+ B-schools. A score of 700+ puts you in the top bracket.

Section-wise Strategy

Language Comprehension (40 Q, 30 min): RC passages are moderate. Focus on vocabulary questions for quick marks. Mathematical Skills (40 Q, 40 min): Similar to CET level. Focus on arithmetic and DI. Data Analysis (40 Q, 35 min): Data sufficiency questions are unique to MAT — practice specifically.

Indian & Global Environment

This section (40 Q, 15 min) is the biggest differentiator. It covers: Current affairs (60%), static GK (20%), business GK (20%). Since time is only 15 minutes, you need to answer from instant recall — no time for thinking. Prepare daily with current affairs quizzes.

Intelligence & Critical Reasoning

This section tests higher-order reasoning. Focus on: Strengthen/weaken arguments, assumptions, logical deductions. Practice with analytical reasoning questions from any MBA prep material.
