Syllogism Made Easy: All-Some-No Rules with Venn Diagrams
Syllogism is a guaranteed scorer if you understand the rules. 5 marks in every banking exam, solvable in 3-4 minutes.
Basic Rules
All A are B: Circle of A is completely inside B. Some A are B: Circles overlap partially. No A is B: Circles don't touch. Some A are not B: Part of A is outside B.
Conclusion Drawing Rules
All + All = All. All + Some = No conclusion. Some + All = Some. Some + Some = No conclusion. No + All = Some not (reverse). No + Some = Some not (reverse).
Reverse Syllogism
In reverse syllogism, you need to find which conclusion makes the given statement true. Check each option by drawing Venn diagrams. The correct option will be the one where all given statements hold true simultaneously.
